“I don't know where to start on my praise for these videos! My wife and I just started square dancing about eight weeks ago (I am 66 and she is 64). I first ordered the mainstream video to see if we could do it and if my wife would like square dancing. When I put the video in she couldn't stop watching it. First it was SO WELL PRODUCED and DONE, second, in my opinion it is the BEST video for beginners and ANYONE who wants to improve their dancing skills. We found a square dance group and informed our caller that we were preparing to go to the 61st Square Dance Convention in Lakeland, Florida in May 2015. He encouraged us and pushed us to learn. Next I ordered the Plus DVD and the Square Dance Party DVD/CD Combination. We went to class twice a week and were ONLY able to keep up by watching these DVDs in between classes! We also put the Square Dance Party CDs in the car DVD Player and listened every time we went somewhere. These videos and CDs were the key to our rapid advancement and success!! We just got home from the convention and we were SO GLAD we had these DVDs to learn from. On Saturday we started dancing in the mainstream hall at 10 a.m. and did not stop dancing until the 4 p.m. break! We then went back and danced again until closing at 10 p.m.! I had never Square Danced before and my partner had last danced 5 years ago. We took Mainstream Square Dancing lessons - it was all new to me. I used your mainstream DVD to review calls that were taught in class and to prepare for new calls. This approach allowed me to learn the calls quicker, better execute the calls in class, and to become more confident.

Once I knew the mainstream Square Dance moves, I taught myself the 30 Plus Calls strictly from your Plus DVD. “I don't know where to start on my praise for these videos! My wife and I just started square dancing about eight weeks ago (I am 66 and she is 64). I first ordered the mainstream video to see if we could do it and if my wife would like square dancing. When I put the video in she couldn't stop watching it. First it was SO WELL PRODUCED and DONE, second, in my opinion it is the BEST video for beginners and ANYONE who wants to improve their dancing skills. We found a square dance group and informed our caller that we were preparing to go to the 61st Square Dance Convention in Lakeland, Florida in May 2015. He encouraged us and pushed us to learn. We are a small club and since for one reason or another dancers leave and so we always need beginners. All club members are then in the situation where we, the dancers who have stayed with the club for some time, are doing lower level dances to accommodate the Basic and Mainstream dancers. Our caller is also challenged with this situation. Since a week is a long time to wait for another lesson, we give out the Instant Hoedown DVDs to the beginners. We also get a square together at a person’s house and do the dances where the new dancers are not pressured to learn right away so they don’t hold up others in the class. It is a social time where we get to know each other better when not busy dancing on our one night of the week with our caller. The Instant Hoedown dances are great with the lively music and singing calls.

So now that we have the beginners looked after, and since we Plus dancers don’t get much dance time on our caller night, we do the same thing. Because we are all retired, we meet at different couples’ houses about 3:00 in the afternoon - dance for a couple of hours and have a supper for which each couple brings a certain dish - and then dance till sometimes approaching 10:00 in the evening. Despite this effort, we are not serious people, so when first trying a new dance in the Party Pack, we will break down - but always with a hoot and a holler. One evening we spent over an hour before we could dance the whole thing through without a mistake - we just kept at it because we were having so much fun breaking down, but still determined to get it. And once done without a mistake, there is the rush of accomplishment. We do this because we have to learn to dance quickly to new callers at a large invitation dance or at a Square Dance Convention. With your product, we will get there, whereas our caller wouldn’t have the time or the patience.”
